Now that 4th of July is just around the corner it?s time once again for family and friends to gather and celebrate America?s birthday. There are several 4th of July events going on in the Coastal Bend that will be sure to make this year?s Independence Day celebration one to remember.


4th Of July Big Bang Celebration



Start this 4th of July off the right way, with a patriotic parade hosted by Flint Hills Resources. Anyone who wants to watch the parade should arrive no later than 5pm as the floats will begin their route promptly at 6pm. The floats will begin at I-37 & Shoreline Blvd. and travel southbound to Park Street. The parade isn?t all, there is also going to be a kid zone from 3pm-6pm with rides, bounce houses, petting zoo, rock wall, face painters, and more. Located right next to the kid zone there is going to be a food truck court where all those in attendance will be able to enjoy a variety of cuisine from 11:30am-9pm. Fireworks celebrating Independence Day will be set off from a barge located in the Corpus Christ Bay, for spectators within 4 miles to enjoy. 2nd Annual Red, White & Blue Festival



In honor of 4th of July, Schlitterbahn Riverpark and Resort in Corpus Christ will be hosting an all-day Blues Festival on the Verando Patio stage from 10am-7pm. So come out and enjoy music and all the attractions the park has to offer. Then at around 8:30pm join everyone on the 4th floor balcony to enjoy the firework display viewing party. Independence Day 40K Gravel Grind

If you want something to do this 4th of July that requires a work out then the Independence Day 40K or 80K bike ride is perfect for you. The ride will take place on the county roads by London School, there will be one stop during the ride. It is required that you wear a helmet and strongly recommended that you bring flat repair equipment. All riders interested in participating in this ride must pre-register at Bay Area Bicycles before 7pm on July 3rd as there will be no day of registration. Wednesday, riders will depart at 7:15am, 1306 FM 43,?



Red, White & Kaboom



Come celebrate Independence Day in style at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. You and your family will get to enjoy carnival games, prizes, face painting, various other activities, food, and of course fireworks. This 4th of July celebration sounds like there is something for everyone, so purchase your tickets now instead of at the door and save. To purchase your tickets call the museum. Red, White & Boom on the Lex



Experience fireworks from the flight deck on the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay. Chairs and music will be provided, food and beverages will be available for purchase and no outside coolers will be allowed.
